Ecological footprint – lime putty binds through the absorption of CO2 from the air. This means that we can reduce the CO2 levels in the atmosphere. This is your contribution to a sustainable future!
The unique visual appearance of lime putty paints, fillers and plasters makes ecologically sound living very modern, stylish and attractive.
Façades and interior rooms with lime putty plasters and paints are especially suitable for indirect lighting, as the light reflections and shadow effects are unique.
We use only the purest limestone for production. After selection and washing, the limestone (CaCO3) is calcinated with sulfur-free gas, resulting in quicklime/calcium oxide (CaO), which is then finely ground.
In our hydration facilities after calcination, the quicklime/calcium undergoes a traditional slaking process (mixed with water). The end product of slaking is milk of lime (aqueous slurry of calcium hydroxide), which is then thickened in special storage facilities and, depending on requirements (with us, currently up to 6 years), stored for the maturing process.
The storing period is at least three months. The unique advantages of this storage become obvious when you start to work. Despite a thinner paint layer (glaze), the old stored lime putty has a higher opacity. The paint is less chalky and is therefore more smear proof.
Our product range does not only comprise mere lime putty but also refined, modern lime putty paints with higher opacity, ranging up to fine fillers and traditional lime putty plasters for special, precious surfaces.
